with the used tickets from many of the greatest gigs and festivals I've been to over the last 10 years I've created a new piece of artwork. Yes, I'm one of those geeks that keeps all their ticket stubs and thought now I should do something with them. Worthy of hanging on the wall?

mashed in manchester
on the train straight out from work to meet lewis, wildor and parky in manchester.
couple of pints while watching the alex win their play off 1st leg.
met up with parker, lino and a few others.
on to the academy to see the cribs, good set, prefer seeing them in a smaller venue but still the cribs never disappoint. got my tshirt ripped in half from crowd surfing.
went off out on the town and on the way to the next bar somehow managed an epic 10 metre falling over just while casually walking, now covered in scrapes and bruises.
went in a bar called 'the deaf institute', cool little place, liked it in there.
went off to 42nd street where they wouldn't let me in without ID, when I exclaimed "I'm 34 mate, I don't carry ID" the bouncer guy says "in that case your too old then, this bar's for students". convincing bouncers I'm over 30 doesn't work anymore then! maybe I should start taking ID out but fake ID showing I'm 24!
As it happens it turned out well as we enjoyed a heavy night on the dubstep scene in factory 251, great fun, throwing some shit hot shapes.
crashed over at lewis's mates flat then got up at an unhealthy hour for a sprint across manchester to try and catch a 9.30am train so that Wil could get back to Crewe for a gym class he was supposed to be in charge of. 4 lads running across manchester carrying holdalls must have looked proper shifty.
got to the platform just in time...... to see the train pulling away.

purple poo
my current obsessions are avocados, the new cribs album and beetroot. 2 of these are edible, the other according to what my ears are saying sounds good enough to eat. i've consumed so much beetroot recently that today i did purple poos, don't worry though, for this post i have decided to refrain from uploading photos ;-)

in the belly of the brazen bull
new cribs album arrived in the post, the postman's played a blinder and delivered it it early, official release is next week. even though i downloaded a leaked version a couple of weeks ago i've still been looking forward to getting the cd and vinyl. somehow it seems to sound better now i've got the proper copy, think its because i like looking over all the artwork etc. came with a signed poster, dvd and other little bits and pieces. it's taken a couple of listens to get into but what an album it is, particularly enjoying "jaded youth", "uptight" and the last four tracks how they all merge into one. my ears are enjoying themselves.
roll on to next saturday, the cribs at manchester academy.....

come on, be a no-one
the new cribs video went online today and i'm in it!
erm well i was there anyway, jumping around somewhere in the crowd.
think i may possibly have found myself in the vid, if it is me i feature for approx 0.23 seconds which probably makes me famous enough to be asked to go on next years celebrity big brother, i'll decline of course.

we're the cribs from wakefield
a saturday night out in leeds and a ticket to see the cribs, i love the cribs i do. our city centre travel lodge turns out to be a 10 minute taxi ride away but its a tenner a head so cant complain too much. a few pints in city centre inbetween some aimless wandering then off to the uni. the cribs never disappoint and with johnny marr now retired from the band they are back to their best. i didnt dislike the johnny marr era, the last album was still great but they have that punk attitude back and the new material sounds better for it. so anyway its all very well me analysing the band dynamics now when at the time i was jumping around shouting, no crowd surfing from me tonight, think i was too cautious about nursing my new phone, whats happened to me? next time i'll leave it behind. Peo on the other hand not only crowd surfed but managed to invade the stage and hug the jarmans before squirming past security and diving off the stage. what a move! jurgen klinsmann would have been happy with that dive!
left the gig soaking wet with sweat and beer and set off back into town to find the stone roses bar which coincidently turned out to be he kind of place to get sweaty and drink lots of beer
