A few months ago my brother Rob aka The Strummer made a rather impressive video showcasing his guitar playing skills with rock riffs and produced a masterpiece of a video with his meticulous video editing. I'm not knocking this triumphant piece of art one bit..... BUT..... is he capable of doing it in one take? Or more directly, Rob, are you capable of doing it in one take??? I have today stumbled across a video called "100 riffs (A Brief History of Rock N' Roll)" where this fella plays 100 rock riffs, in chronological order, in one take! Now obviously he doesn't have the talent of Rob The Strummer Brand, I know that, but I don't want the rest of the world to think otherwise. So Rob, let's settle this, who's the best? You or some guy called Alex Chadwick? I see this video as a gauntlet been thrown down, actually I think he's thrown the gauntlet in your face! Are you gonna stand for this bro?

Hi everyone, I am the one who made this viral video which has just reached 100 views *blushes*... It is very likely that the other guy did make mistakes in his audio and went back after to replace some of the audio bits he didn't like... With a bit of fiddling around, you can get it to blend in perfectly and I did it myself a few times... So the 'one take' thing might not be quite true... If it really is in one take then he's got amazing discipline and I could never do that as my mind wanders or I get nervous. e.g. I stood there for about 2 hours playing the voodoo child riff again and again getting really pissed off so when I finally recorded one which was 'ok' it had become really slow but I didn't even care because the skin was peeling off my fingertips... The videos can't really be compared cos they are different. I didn't want to make a 100 riffs video as I only knew about 15 and there are so many other better videos on youtube so I thought I'd do something different and pad out the stuff I already knew. But what I didn't realise is that it would take about 50 hours to edit (it's ok though I did most of it at work). It was a good exercise to explore the sounds you can get from just one instrument and an effects pedal. I just hope my fans are happy that's all I ask.
Oh yeah also the video quality makes a big difference. I don't have a studio with loads of natural light and a background full of guitars... I only have a small bedroom on the roof of a block of flats for recording... So for that reason I think I win for making the best out of the circumstances.
If you're stepping down from the challenge then that's fine being as you've justified it with so many valid excuses. We'll just leave it as it is and put this one down as 'backed out'.
